Yarrow Hydrosol

A Venusian herb renowned for its healing virtues, Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is a wondrous ally to the grief-stricken heart, and offers courage and comfort in the midst of death and dying.

Yarrow Hydrosol offers excellent vulnerary properties and may be used for gentle wound care for the living and the dying. An amazingly versatile plant medicine, Yarrow is anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antimicrobial, analgesic, and a wonderful astringent with its affinity for the blood. Energetically, Yarrow is emotionally calming and clarifying, it aids with finding balance in the liminal moments of death, and offers the stability needed for healing the heart after the loss of a loved one.

At the threshold of death, Yarrow comforts and protects the departing spirit during its vulnerable transition, and may ease the restlessness that often accompanies the dying process. Postmortem, Yarrow Hydrosol may be used to cleanse the deceased, it repels insects and subtly perfumes the body with a delicate floral scent.
