Red Cedar Hydrosol

Renowned as the sacred Tree of Life amongst the coastal tribes, the Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata) warms the atmosphere with its presence. The sweet aroma of Red Cedar is uplifting and strengthening, and offers its virtues to those in mourning who have suffered a deep emotional loss.

Red Cedar Hydrosol may be used for rites of consecration, purification, and protection, and as a smokeless alternative to traditional smudging when a death has occurred. As a cleansing wash for the dead, Red Cedar offers its antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal properties, and subtly perfumes the body with a sweet verdant scent.

Steam distilled in small batches, Red Cedar Hydrosol is available in 2oz spray bottles for asperging of self and space, and 8oz bottles as a purifying wash for the deceased.
